Carpet Prices to Increase

North Oak Property Management has just been notified that effective July 1, 2011 carpet prices will increase due to a “Carpet Stewardship Assessment” . This $0.05 per square yard assessment will be a direct pass-through to the purchaser of the carpet. The reason for the government imposing this fee is in order to subsidize the cost of recycling the carpet which would otherwise be thrown away. For more information on the “Carpet Stewardship Assessment” (AKA AB 2398) please visit www.calrecycle.ca.gov .
